On 18 February 2026, Nova Scotia rebuilt its Nominee Program (NSNP), merging ten streams into four. If you are planning Nova Scotia PR from Hyderabad, this page explains the new structure, which stream is realistic from India and how our Nova Scotia PNP consultants in Hyderabad can help. Information on this page is taken from the official Government of Nova Scotia NSNP website as last checked in September 2026.
| Nova Scotia: Express Entry | Skilled work experience in Nova Scotia, and physicians |
| Skilled Worker | Workers with a full-time permanent Nova Scotia job offer – also covers construction and physicians |
| Nova Scotia Graduate | International graduates in demand in Nova Scotia |
| Entrepreneur | Entrepreneurs, including international graduate entrepreneurs |

| Nova Scotia: Express Entry | Skilled Worker | |
|---|---|---|
| Job offer | Not needed for the skilled work pathway | Full-time permanent offer from a Nova Scotia employer |
| Experience | One year of TEER 0-3 work in Nova Scotia | One year of related experience (TEER 4-5 need six months with the employer) |
| Language | CLB 7 for TEER 0-1, CLB 5 for TEER 2-3 | CLB 5 for TEER 0-3, CLB 4 for TEER 4-5 |
| Education | Canadian high school or equivalent | High school diploma |
| Age | 21 to 55 | 21 to 55 |
| Other | Federal Express Entry profile needed | Sub-criteria for construction and physicians |
For both streams you first submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). Selected candidates receive a Letter of Interest, and once nominated you apply to IRCC for permanent residence – within 12 months for the Express Entry stream. EOIs submitted before 18 February 2026 stay in the pool.
Because Nova Scotia: Express Entry needs work experience in Nova Scotia, the realistic route from India is the Skilled Worker stream with a full-time permanent job offer from a Nova Scotia employer.
Without a Nova Scotia job offer or Nova Scotia work experience, the NSNP is not open to most applicants in India. Depending on your profile, these routes may work better:
Yes, mainly through the Skilled Worker stream if you have a full-time permanent job offer from a Nova Scotia employer. The Nova Scotia: Express Entry stream needs one year of work experience in Nova Scotia.
On 18 February 2026, Nova Scotia merged its ten previous streams into four: Nova Scotia: Express Entry, Skilled Worker, Nova Scotia Graduate and Entrepreneur.
It depends on the stream and TEER level – for example CLB 5 for TEER 0-3 jobs in the Skilled Worker stream, and CLB 7 for TEER 0-1 experience in the Express Entry stream.
