As Australia immigration consultants in Hyderabad, we assess your points score, occupation and state options against the current rules before you spend anything on a skills assessment or an English test. If the score does not reach the level being invited for your occupation, we say so – and set out what would change it.
Thinking about building a successful life in Australia, from Hyderabad or anywhere in India? Our experienced Australia PR Visa consultants help professionals, families, and students secure Permanent Residency (PR) with a smooth, stress-free process. With years of experience and proven results, we help you reach your migration goals, whether you visit our Hyderabad office or connect with us online from any city in India.
The Australian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa lets you live, work, and study in Australia for as long as you want. It is designed for skilled professionals, graduates, and families, and is a popular choice for people who want to benefit from Australia’s strong job market, diverse culture, and great quality of life. PR holders get almost all the same rights and benefits as citizens, except for voting and some government jobs. The PR program uses a points system that looks at your age, education, work experience, language skills, and other factors.
| Category | Maximum Points |
|---|---|
| Age (25–32 years) | 30 |
| English proficiency (Superior – IELTS 8 / PTE 79+) | 20 |
| Work experience outside Australia (8–10 yrs) | 15 |
| Work experience inside Australia (8–10 yrs) | 20 |
| Education – Doctorate (PhD) | 20 |
| Specialist education (Master/PhD by research in Australia – STEM fields) | 10 |
| Study in regional Australia | 5 |
| Accredited community language (NAATI) | 5 |
| Professional Year Program (Australia) | 5 |
| State nomination – Subclass 190 visa | 5 |
| Regional / family sponsorship – Subclass 491 visa | 15 |
| Skilled spouse/partner (age + skills + English met) | 10 |
| Spouse with competent English only | 5 |
| Single applicant OR spouse is Australian citizen/PR | 10 |

| Engineering | Civil Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Electrical Engineer | 95,000 – 140,000 | High |
| Healthcare | Registered Nurse, GP Doctor, Physiotherapist | 80,000 – 300,000 | Critical |

The Australian system is not hard to file – it is hard to qualify for. Australia immigration consultants in Hyderabad earn their fee by scoring you honestly against the points currently being invited for your occupation, telling you which states will nominate you, and saying plainly when the answer is not yet. Lodging an Expression of Interest that will never be invited costs you a year.
Most people arrive at this page looking for Australia PR, but a large share of the searches behind it are about work visas – and those run on a different logic. Skilled migration is points-tested and you compete against everyone else in the pool. Employer-sponsored routes are not: if a business is willing to sponsor you and the role qualifies, the points score stops mattering.
| Route | What it is | Who it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Subclass 482 Skills in Demand | Employer-sponsored temporary work visa | You already hold an offer from an approved sponsor |
| Subclass 186 Employer Nomination | Employer-sponsored permanent residence | Nominated by an employer, often after time on a 482 |
| Subclass 494 Regional Sponsored | Employer-sponsored, regional, provisional | Willing to work in a designated regional area |
| Subclass 407 Training | Occupational training with a sponsor | Structured workplace training, not general employment |
| Subclass 462 Work and Holiday | Capped annual quota for eligible nationalities | Younger applicants, short stay, limited work rights |
The practical question is not which visa sounds best but whether an employer will sponsor. Everything on the employer-sponsored side waits on that, and nothing you do individually speeds it up.
| 189 Skilled Independent | 190 Skilled Nominated | 491 Skilled Work Regional | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sponsor needed | None | A state or territory | A state, territory or eligible relative |
| Status on grant | Permanent | Permanent | Provisional, converts later |
| Where you may live | Anywhere | Usually the nominating state | A designated regional area |
| Extra points | None | Nomination points | Higher nomination points |
| Realistic for | High scorers in sought occupations | Occupations a state is short of | Applicants who will genuinely commit to a region |
The 491 is the one people dismiss and should not. It carries the largest nomination points, its invitation scores run well below the 189, and it leads to permanent residence after the qualifying period. The condition is real though – the regional residence requirement is checked, and it is not a formality.
Our detailed pages cover the subclass 189, the subclass 190 and the subclass 491 individually.
The visa application charge is the largest single item but the last one you pay. Everything before it is spent getting to the point where you can apply at all.
| Item | Paid to | When |
|---|---|---|
| Skills assessment | Your assessing authority | Before the EOI |
| English test | IELTS, PTE or an accepted provider | Before the EOI, often sat more than once |
| Expression of Interest | Free | At lodgement in SkillSelect |
| Visa application charge | Department of Home Affairs | After an invitation |
| Additional applicant charge | Department of Home Affairs | Per family member, at a different rate for adults and children |
| Health examinations | A panel clinic | After lodging, per person |
| Police certificates | Each country lived in 12 months or more | Before or shortly after lodging |
| Our professional fee | NC Visas | Staged, separate from every charge above |
The charges are revised each July. Applying against last year’s figure is a lodgement error, not a saving. Our Australia PR fees page breaks the current structure down.
Every firm in the city advertises the same promise, so the label tells you nothing. These are the things that actually differ, and each can be checked before money changes hands.
| What to check | What a straight answer looks like |
|---|---|
| The first assessment | Your points scored against what is currently being invited for your occupation – not a general estimate |
| Occupation confirmation | Which list your ANZSCO code sits on, and which visas that opens |
| Registration | Who will be named as your migration agent, and their MARA registration number |
| Written scope | What the fee covers, what is extra, and what is refundable |
| The refusal conversation | What happens, and what it costs, if the application is refused |
On registration: only a registered migration agent or an Australian legal practitioner may give immigration assistance for a fee under Australian law. Ask for the MARA number and check it on the public register. A consultancy that cannot answer that question directly is answering it.
