Frequently asked questions

Which IELTS is needed for Canada PR?

IELTS General Training. IRCC does not accept IELTS Academic for Express Entry and other economic programs. Results are valid for two years for IRCC.

How long does IELTS preparation take?

It depends on the gap between your current level and your target band. The diagnostic test at the start tells us how big that gap is, and the plan is built around it.

Is computer-delivered IELTS easier than paper?

The content and scoring are the same. The computer test gives faster results and allows One Skill Retake, so many candidates prefer it.

Can I retake only one section of IELTS?

Yes, with IELTS One Skill Retake after a computer-delivered test, within 60 days. Check that the organisation you are applying to accepts it before booking.
