Canada Super Visa Consultant in Hyderabad – Parents and Grandparents

Canada Tourist Visa Consultant

The super visa is how most Indian parents actually reach Canada

The Parent and Grandparent Program runs on an invitation lottery with limited places and long waits. The super visa does not. It is a long-stay visitor visa, granted for up to ten years, allowing stays of several years at a time – and it is available on application rather than on being drawn. For families in Hyderabad wanting parents in Canada within months rather than years, this is the route that works.

The two are not exclusive. Many families apply for the super visa now and enter the PR interest pool as well.

What the child in Canada has to prove

The application rests as much on the sponsor as on the parent. The child or grandchild in Canada must be a citizen or permanent resident, and must show income at or above the low income cut-off for the household size, counting the visiting parents in that size.

  • A signed letter of invitation confirming financial support and the length of the intended stay.
  • Notice of Assessment or T4 for the most recent tax year, as proof of income.
  • Proof of status in Canada – citizenship certificate, passport or PR card.
  • Evidence of the relationship: birth certificate naming the parent, or equivalent.
  • Details of everyone in the household, since the income threshold rises with household size.

The insurance requirement

Medical insurance is not optional and it is where applications most often fall down. The policy must be from a Canadian insurer or an approved provider, valid for at least one year from entry, cover healthcare, hospitalisation and repatriation, and meet the minimum coverage amount set by IRCC. A policy that starts on the date of application rather than the date of entry, or one that lapses mid-stay, causes a refusal or a problem at the border. Buy it after the travel plan is settled, and check the certificate names the applicant exactly as the passport does.

The medical examination

An immigration medical examination by a panel physician is required for every applicant. Results are valid for a limited period, so timing matters: too early and it expires before the decision, too late and it delays the file. For older applicants the examination sometimes leads to further tests, and it is worth allowing for that rather than booking against a fixed travel date.

Why super visa applications from India get refused

ReasonWhat to do instead
Sponsor income below the cut-offCheck the current low income cut-off for the full household size before applying
Insurance not meeting the criteriaConfirm insurer, duration, coverage amount and start date against the requirement
Weak ties to IndiaEvidence property, pension, dependants and reasons to return
Vague purpose or open-ended stayState the intended stay and the reason for it
Incomplete relationship evidenceWhere the birth certificate is old or absent, use school records, passports and affidavits together

Ties to India: the part families underestimate

A visa officer is deciding whether a visitor will leave. Retired parents with an adult child settled in Canada are, on the face of it, the profile least likely to return – so the file has to answer that directly. Property in their name, a pension or rental income, other children or dependants in India, ongoing medical care, community or religious commitments: each of these is a reason to come back, and each belongs in the application rather than being assumed.

Applying, step by step

  1. Check the sponsor income against the current cut-off for the household size including the visiting parents. Nothing else matters until this is met.
  2. Gather the parents documents – passports, relationship evidence and proof of ties in India.
  3. Write the invitation letter, naming the intended stay, the purpose and the undertaking of support.
  4. Buy the insurance once travel timing is settled, checking duration, coverage and the name on the certificate.
  5. Book the medical with a panel physician, timed so the result is valid when the decision is made.
  6. Lodge, then give biometrics at the visa application centre. Processing runs from the biometrics, not from payment.

After the visa is granted

The visa is a permission to travel; the officer at the port of entry decides the length of the stay and stamps it. Parents should carry the invitation letter, the insurance certificate and proof of the sponsor status in hand baggage rather than in checked bags, because those are the documents the officer may ask to see. Keep the insurance valid for the whole period actually spent in Canada, not merely the first year – allowing a policy to lapse creates a problem on any later application even if nothing goes wrong medically. Where the stay is to be extended beyond the period granted, the application is made from inside Canada before the current status expires.

Frequently asked questions

How long can parents stay on a super visa?

Entries are granted for an extended period well beyond a standard visitor visa, and an extension can be applied for from within Canada. The exact period is set by IRCC and by the officer at entry.

Can both parents apply together?

Yes. Each files their own application, but they are assessed together and the sponsor income must cover both within the household size.

Can a super visa holder work?

No. It is a visitor status. Working requires a separate authorisation.

Does a refused visitor visa affect this?

It must be disclosed, and the new application should address why the previous concern no longer applies.

What we do, and what we will not claim

  • We assess eligibility against the current rules before you pay for anything.
  • We prepare the evidence that decides the case, not just the forms.
  • We tell you when the answer is no, or not yet, rather than taking the file anyway.
  • We do not guarantee outcomes. The decision belongs to the authority, and no consultant changes that.

Applying from Hyderabad

The whole file is prepared from our Hyderabad office and lodged online. What needs local planning is the biometric appointment, the medical where one is required, and police clearance – the item people consistently start too late. We sequence those so nothing expires before the decision.

Book an assessment

Send us the sponsor income position and household size, and your parents documents. We will tell you whether the threshold is met before anything is filed. Talk to our Canada team in Hyderabad.
